What Clients Say

Client Testimonials

"We brought Bumi Consult in when we were genuinely unsure about the next three years. The Strategic Clarity Session was two of the most productive days my leadership team has had together. The facilitator drew out conversations we had been avoiding for months — politely but very directly. We left with a short, clear list of priorities that we actually used."

Zamri Abdul Latif

Managing Director, Kuala Lumpur

"The Business Roadmap Development engagement was thorough without being unnecessarily long. Ahmad and his team took the time to understand how our company actually works — which is quite different from how an org chart would suggest. The roadmap document they produced with us is genuinely being used. Six months in, we refer to it regularly."

"I appreciated that the consultants were not trying to sell us more work at every turn. The scoping conversation was honest — they told us upfront that a full roadmap engagement was probably more than we needed at this stage, and suggested we start with the Clarity Session. That kind of candour is not common in this industry."

Siti Kamariah

Founder, Shah Alam

April 2026

"We have been on the Long-Term Advisory Partnership for just over a year. The value is in the consistency — the same consultants who understand our business context attend every quarterly review. By the third session, we no longer needed to spend the first hour re-explaining where things stand. That continuity changes the quality of the conversation."

RN

Rosnani Nordin

Executive Chairman, Kota Bharu

March 2026

"The facilitation work Nurul did during our roadmap sessions was the part that surprised me most. I expected a structured presentation of findings. What we got instead was a genuinely facilitated dialogue that brought out real disagreements between my directors — and then helped us work through them. The plan that came out of that process had actual buy-in."

HT

Hazwan Talib

Group MD, Johor Bahru

January 2026

"Solid, professional work. The deliverables from the Roadmap Development engagement were clear and well-structured. I would say our main learning was that we should have started the engagement a few months earlier — but that is on us, not on them. The process itself was well managed and the team was straightforward to work with."

Case Studies

Three anonymised accounts of strategic planning engagements, describing the client situation, the work involved, and what changed as a result.

Case Study 01 — Strategic Clarity Session

A Family-Owned Manufacturer Preparing for Succession

The Challenge

A second-generation family business in the manufacturing sector was preparing to transition management to the third generation. The founding family held strong views about the business's direction, but the incoming leadership team had a different perspective on where the growth opportunity lay. The unresolved tension was making planning difficult.

What We Did

Over two workshop days, we facilitated a structured conversation between the two generations — separately at first, then jointly. Using a clear framework for mapping priorities and assumptions, we helped both groups articulate their positions explicitly and find the genuine areas of alignment beneath the apparent disagreement.

The Outcome

The family agreed on a three-year transition plan with defined handover milestones. Both generations felt the process had given them a fair hearing. The incoming leadership team subsequently engaged Bumi Consult for a Roadmap Development engagement to formalise their growth direction.

"We had been circling this conversation for two years. Two days of structured work did more to resolve it than all the informal discussions combined."

Case Study 02 — Business Roadmap Development

A Regional Logistics Provider Assessing a New Market

The Challenge

A mid-sized logistics company serving Peninsular Malaysia was considering whether to expand its operations into Sabah and Sarawak. The opportunity looked attractive on paper, but the management team had reservations about operational complexity and capital requirements that had not been fully examined.

What We Did

Over three weeks, we worked with senior management to assess the East Malaysian logistics environment, examine the company's current capability against the requirements of the proposed expansion, and model three strategic scenarios with different risk and investment profiles. We then facilitated an alignment session with the full leadership team.

The Outcome

The leadership team chose a phased expansion approach — smaller than the original ambition but more considered in its capital deployment. Eighteen months after the engagement, the first phase is operating profitably. The management team attributes the clear staging to the quality of the planning work that preceded it.

Case Study 03 — Long-Term Advisory Partnership

A Technology Services Firm Navigating Rapid Growth

The Challenge

A Kuala Lumpur-based technology services firm had grown significantly over two years, partly through opportunistic client wins rather than deliberate strategy. The founding team recognised that without a clearer direction, growth would become harder to sustain — and harder to staff appropriately.

What We Did

We began with a Roadmap Development engagement to establish a clearer strategic direction, then transitioned to the Advisory Partnership as the firm entered its implementation phase. Quarterly reviews helped the leadership team make adjustments as market conditions evolved across the year.

The Outcome

After twelve months on the advisory partnership, the firm had made three deliberate capability investments aligned with their chosen direction — and had declined two client opportunities that would previously have been accepted. The quality of client selection improved meaningfully.
